Hi,

I'm having some of the same problems with Chloe. We switched from Friskies
(which she LOVED) to Nutro Max. She hates Nutro and I've had to be tricky
about getting her to eat it. You can try mixing a little raw egg yolk with
her food, or a teaspoon of olive oil. A lot of times what happens is it's the
"fat" taste the cats miss, so a little olive oil adds some flavor back in.
I've also tried the trick of removing food after half an hour, if she hasn't
eaten it. After a couple of days she caught on and now she's fairly good at
eating it. But I still have to bully her sometimes. I figure that a little
Nutro probably has more and better nutrition than a whole can of Friskies
does, though. The natural cat care books I've read claim that cats have to
eat more of the Friskies-type foods to get the nutrients they need, so it
always *seems* like they're eating a lot of that food and none of the other,
better foods. Just like eating a whole bag of chips is not better for you
nutritionally than eating half a potato. So, I wouldn't worry if she's not
eating as much, as long as she's not losing weight.
