Hi All, and thank you for your concern about my Smokey who had a seizure
last night. He was fine after about 10 minutes of rest and ate, drank and
used the sandbox.

I talked with the vet this morning and she said that one seizure or maybe
two with a long period in between (which Smokey has had) didn't necessarily
mean anything and that as long as he didn't have them frequently, there was
probably nothing to worry about. However, she did suggest starting him
right away on DMG once a day! DMG is an immune stimulant and she said it
would be good for his system and might very well prevent any subsequent
seizures - something she has seen in other cats!

So, I have the pills and will start him on them in the morning. He has
been fine all day!

I hope those who have not experienced a seizure in a cat never have to
experience it. It is very scary, but, I think the thing to do is just to
hold the cat where he is and stroke him and talking soothingly to him. I
really and truly don't think Smokey today remembers what happened to him
last night. I am not ready to go through it again, but I think I will not
panic as much the next time - which I hope will never happen!

Best to you all and soft pawpats from Smokey as thanks for your concern.
