Okay guys, I gotta know.  Has ANYONE tried or heard of the leukemia testing
kits that Drs. Foster & Smith sell?  Yeah, it's rather pricey, but not for
what you get!  I pay 30 bucks per test at the vet and have to drag the
kitties all the way over there (this is for the elisa tests).  It's a hassle.
Drs Foster & Smith sell a home leukemia test kit - the elisa test - which
sounds EXACTLY like the one the vet uses, a pack of 25 tests for $159.99 plus
shipping.  Considering I pay 30 bucks EACH, I sure as hell can do the math
with that!  WHOA!  I called them to find out what it involves, and it doesn't
sound difficult at all.  A little more involved than a home pregnancy test,
but there's not much more to it.  The customer service woman I spoke to was
amazing, she put me on hold and dug out the exact directions from the box to
tell me all that she could - and she read the WHOLE thing to me.  The only
drawback is that the tests have to be refigerated between 35 and 45 degrees
farenheit (which is actually the temperature of any normal household fridge -
that's what they say to keep milk at).
So you have to pay for overnight shipping, which actually isn't bad, shipping
totals come to 20 bucks.  Not bad for overnight if you ask me!  This would
really solve the cost effective problem I was facing with getting all of the
kitties retested.  I would buy this in a heartbeat!  So guys, help me out,
this REALLY sounds too good to be true - is it?  Now I know the ELISA isn't
100% and all that junk, but hell...  That's what we are getting at the vets!
It comes out to like 7 bucks per test...  Big savings...  I know if it sounds
too good to be true it usually is...  This would totally give me major peace
of mind...  Please, any feedback???
