Genie,
"Yellow tabby" is what I've always called what some folks call a 'tiger cat"
Don't have any photos scanned yet...but will post some on my web page soon.
They are CUTE!
Havent' come up with names yet, so far they're Stripes, Climber, and
Blotchy...but that may change to Ichiro, Kazu and Bret if the Mariners keep
winning!

Awwww. They're so lucky to have found you! Is there any way you can
share
some pictures?
BTW- what's a "yellow" tabby?
Just curious

Totally unplanned, I might add. Thursday night I set out at early dusk
to
walk my dog Zsa-Zsa (yes --fluffy blond, big chest, tiny waist-- Afghan
Hound) a few laps around the edge of the yard. We got about 1/2 a lap
when
she started pulling hard into the yard. I could hear what I thought
were
hawk cries (I have a nest just in the edge of the yard), but were coming
from the ground. When I started looking to where the cries were coming
from...a 3 week old kitten running as fast as its little legs could carry
it toward me. I got to it before Zsa-Zsa could and took it inside. Zsa
was quite disappointed when I left her inside the fence while I looked
for
more (I could still hear cries).. Yep, two more of them in the edge of
the
woods, screaming for all they were worth. I called my vet - who luckily
was the one on call that night- to help me figure out what I might have
in
the house they could eat. Since I am lactose intolerant, I rarely keep
milk on hand. I managed, with her help, to come up with a concoction of
leftover whipping cream, non-fat lactaid milk and pureed
canned-chicken-in-gravy adult cat food that quieted them enough to sleep
for the night. Then I took them to her for day-care and to be checked
while I was at work and until I could get a can of KMR and kitten food to
mix in it. They're too young to eat unaided, so I'm syringe feeding
until
they can handle a dish.
They're absolutely beautiful, all yellow tabbies (one stripe, 2 blotch,
all
male of course). I'm not sure where they came from, but I have a
neighbor
who had a couple of yellow tabbies he doesn't take very good care of.
I've
been leaving food out for them, because they're always hungry (and we
won't
discusss how they're going to 'disappear' if I ever get them to actually
come to me...). Anyway, as I said, I have a nest of red-tails in my
yard,
and I fear I know what must have happened to the mom. (Yes, the hawks
are
big enough I'd NEVER let any of my cats outside, tho I think the Afghan
is
probably safe!)
Now I've got to fingure out what I'm going to to with 3 more cats...
anyone want a kitten????
sigh.
