better wording! Thank you! Here's another thing to think about - what about
organ donation? If you donate any organs when you pass, then if you are
going to PHYSICALLY rise, there'd be problems... Like you said, this IS GOD
we're talking about, so I honestly believe that it doesn't matter WHAT
happens to your body after you die. I don't like the thought of being in a
box either... Besides - does the physical BODY go to heaven? Catholicism...
Many loopholes...

I'm very behind in my e-mails, but I wanted to check in on this issue.
I actually minored in Religion in college.
Many religions believe in reincarnation - - that would make me inclined to
feel that their consensus would be that the focus is on the soul/spirit and
not the physical body. Many native americans believe that the souls of
their
ancestors are inhabiting a particular tree or rock or even an animal.
From the Christian perspective, (I was raised Catholic and am now a
born-again Christian), I think that there is a contradiction. There is a
serious focus on the soul yet they talk about bodies (implying the physical
flesh & bone) being restored to life. There was a great deal of discussion
and theorizing about whether this body really means the flesh & bone body.
Many people are inclinded to think it actually was intended to refer to the
soul as well.
My opinion - as a Christian - is that even if you are cremated, God can put
you back together if he really means that your flesh & bone body would be
restored to life. Somewhere I recall hearing about how a sick person's
body
would be restored to health - - so why couldn't somebody who has been
cremated be brought back, too?
We're talking about God after all and he can do anything.
I wouldn't feel bad about cremation because I sincerely believe that it
does
not do any harm to your soul. Personally, I don't want to be cremated, but
I'm not against it.
