Chere,
Believe me things will get brighter. It might take some time but just having your other kitty with you will help you tremendously. I'm crying right not as i read these posts, for my Lucki who i lost 6 years ago. She was my angel, and as you can see some of us do grieve for a long time. But i do have much better days than I did back when i lost her, I can talk more now of the happier moments with her, but it's still difficult at times. Sash also helped me so much get thru this period, I don't know what i would have done without him. So cherish your other furbaby, and never forget Ms. Slippers.   Take care, Lisa

Chere.....

You don't ever have to apologize here for expressing your thoughts and/or grief to this List.  We have all been in the same position in which you find yourself.  Each individual grieves in her/his own way.  There is no time limit on grief.  We are here to educate, assist, discuss treatments and ideas and share each other's times of grief.

Chere, there will come a time when your grief is not so intense.  You will never forget or stop loving Ms. Slippers, but you will be able to go on and cherish the memories of her without the intense grief.

I feel that you need to get beyond what wasn't done for Ms. Slippers.  It is NOT your fault that you didn't receive the proper help to perhaps extend her life.  You did everything possible that you knew to do.  You cannot keep grieving 'if only.'  When you are able, please try to see Ms. Slippers illness and passing as a loving, learning experience.  Perhaps she came to you to show you that even though she couldn't get the proper help to stay here, she taught you that there is hope and treatment for kitties who have this dreadful disease.

I can tell from your writings that you are a deeply loving, caring and compassionate person.  I truly hope that you can one day soon share those wonderful traits with another little needy kitty.  There are so many who need people like you.

I truly believe there are angels among us.  I have many and at least one was my kitty, Suzy Q.  Take comfort in your angel, Ms. Slippers.  She was sent here for a specific purpose.  She did what she was supposed to do and then was called for a more divine purpose.  Celebrate her life, not her death.

     Take very good care, lovingly....
