My cat, Jacques, a lovely black and white boy whom I loved dearly, moved, um, 5 times during his lifetime - I drove him from PHiladelphia to Little Rock in 1977. He meowed the whole way. Moved into a house, then an apt, then another house, then another house. He always took a day to check things out, and wouldn't eat much. I always checked out for spots in the new place where he might get caught, hide or be in trouble. By the 2nd day would eat and drink a bit and be more at home in the new abode.
He was such a sweetie.

Genie,
You are too kind. Hope the move goes well. Our first cat, Albert, moved twice in his fifteen+ years and never had any problem. He did hide in the fireplace on the first day at the second house. He wasn't afraid; he was exploring. We thought he had gotten out and were horrified.

I have temporarily co-opted the organization web site to put up pictures of Franklin (my positive) and Carolina. I love them to pieces.
