Hi.. I've been gone about a month and haven't had time to read any of these e-mails. I have to apologize for that, I started business school and have no time for anything else these days.

First off, I'm sorry to everyone who has lost their FeLV kitties and I hope all the rest are doing well.

I wanted to send an update on my kitties. I have 2 8-month old kittens, Vince and Megan. About 2 months ago, Vince got really sick and turned out being FeLV positive. He fought off all the other sicknesses (URI, pnemonia) and is now a pretty healthy (but very skinny and lazy) FeLV+ kitty.

At that point, Megan tested negative, so we gave her to a friend for 2 months and waited to test her again. They had been the best of friends and played constantly. Both became a little depressed when they were seperated, but eventually got used to it. Well, Megan has turned out positive now also (I guess she got it from him and it hadn't showed up yet) so we brought her back ! home. At first, Vince was really sad and hiding all the time. I think he was jealous (of course). Now they are both pretty much OK, but completely ignore each other. Since it was only 2 months, I thought that they would remember each other and things would be better with them back together. Does anyone have any tips on how to get them playing again?

Also, we had been giving Vince interferon every day. Are there any side effects with this? I tried to take a week off so that he could go on the 7 days on, 7 days off plan, but he seemed more lethargic than normal, and I am scared of him getting sick again.

I'm sorry if my questions are repetitive, I just don't have much time to do research now.

Thanks,

Camille
