Ask for the new adjuvent-free vaccines, which are less likely to cause fibrosarcomas. These are not very common, by the way, in the scheme of things - I know of only 2 or 3 people whose cats got them over the past 10 years, and I meet thousands of cat owners. None of mine have, so far. Protocols are to vaccinate in three different sites (right rear leg, left rear leg, over shoulder) for the three different vaccines, also to lessen possibility of fibrosarcoma and to help identify which vaccine might be responsible.
