Peggy, maybe like Belle it is just pneumonia - she panted and breathed rapidly and
wouldn't eat, and once she got Baytril she made a great improvement and now seems
fine. But if it is a tumor, esp. if thymic lymphoma, you might not want to totally
give up yet. Yet the diagnosis, and if it is that and there's fluid in the chest, a
tap may bring 3 months of really good time as it did for Kit and might be worth going
for. I don't regret doing it the first time for him, or really even the last two
times, although if he hadn't succumbed under anesthesia during the last try and the
fluid had returned as fast as it did the next-to-last time, I would have let him go at
that point. A power greater than Kit or me decided it was his time, but after he had
that first tap he was so well for a while I was very glad to have him for that extra
time and see him as he was when we first got him - and in fact better than he'd been
for the previous 6 mos.
