Pam,

That was a good point about the medical research. I totally agree.

Subject: Re: Marley Fund web site

She has links to both Cornell and www.Felineleukemia.org, among
others. Most
of her site is good - only incorrect thing is "80% of cats will die
of FeLV."
Maybe she was trying to say that 80% of those who contract it will
        ultimately die.

I e-mailed her about two things: why she had three leuk positive
kitties
(did they get it from each other, or did she actually choose leuk
positives
each time she acquired a kitty?) and one other very important thing
-
leukemia research, especially the testing of efficacy of vaccines,
often
involves deliberately infecting cats, especially kittens, with
leukemia. I'm
not giving money to any place that does this - there are enough
naturally
infected cats, without infecting them deliberately. We should all
remember
that in order for our cats to be protected with vaccines, thousands
of cats
have been deliberately infected by the vaccine manufacturers and
have died as
a result. Tread warily before opening your pocketbooks. I think
the Marley
Fund should state how it is going to distribute its funds and should
commit
to not funding any research involving deliberate infection.
