Hi Pam

At least she's eating, god, I just wish Poppy would. We are still waiting
for a further blood test to narrow the chances to either, Parathyroid, Hyper
parathyroid, or a cancer - poss lymphoma. The only thing to be found wrong
with Pop is her high calcium in the blood, no signs of tumours under xray
and no lumps in neck, all organs working fine. Like Rissa-Tai, she is v.
under weight and weak.

You sound like you're getting somewhere, lets keep our fingers crossed.

Love sonja

Subject: Rissa-Tai this week

HI,
thanks to everyone for keeping Rissa-Tai in your prayers.
She went to the vet earlier today just for a check. Her hematocrit was up
to
25%, which is great, but her weight was down 7 lb. 14 oz., a loss of 9 oz.
and her glucose levels are up to 415 -- she should be under 200. The vet
thinks the weight loss is from the diabetes. She is happy with the
improvement with the hematocrit, and said if next week her pcv is still good

(I'm hoping for better), her weight is up and her glucose is down, that we
do
the surgery. I want to find out if there is a way to discover if the cancer

has spread, maybe through ultrasound or x-ray? If so, I'm thinking we
should
do that first, although it would be expensive, because I don't want to put
her through surgery if it won't help in the long run.
Anyway, she is definitely more social, and eating a lot -- so the weight
loss
causes some anxiety over here. We'll see, keep the good thoughts coming --
they're working!
Pam
