Hi,

Since Valium has potent muscle-relaxing properties, I can see where it
might be helpful to get a cat to eat if the reason they are not eating is
pain or, more especially, nausea. About 20 years ago I had a severe viral
inner-ear infection; the vertigo and nausea were horrible and I had a
reaction to the anti-vertigo medication I was given. I hadn't eaten in
days and my doctor prescribed Valium since what I had was viral all they
could do was treat the symptoms while I waited it out. The Valium relaxed
me enough to be able to eat. I guess it would really depend on the cause
of lack of appetite.
