Been reading about Kelly from afar, and you really are brilliant. Would a
wonderful loving home you have. And yes, bugger the carpet!!

Pam,

Kellie is definitely impared due to her head injury. Still blind & deaf.
But she does have the ability to smell. Not sure how acute that sense
is...but she can certainly find the food bowl from a foot or two away !!
She's a little piggie when it comes to feeding time. I wish I had a small
area to put her in during the day, but I have run out of rooms in the house.
Grandpa Jack & Zinnie, my FeLV+ kitties, occupy my son Ryan's room and I
have foster kitties in another. Kellie does hang out in the foster kitty
room sometimes and seems to enjoy their presence. The sad part is that they
seem to sense somehow that she is "different" and don't really interact with
her that much. So, when we are home, she is with us constantly. She also
sleeps with us now....much to the dismay of the rest of the gang...Meechie,
Abby, Michael & Spunky. Geez...we are running out of room on the bed !
It's funny...my boyfriend and I have to form a "circle" at night with Kellie
sleeping in the middle, b/c we are afraid she will wake up and walk right
off the edge!!

Kellie is a good girl and will "go" in her litter box when I place her there
after her feedings or after she wakes up from a nap. But when I'm gone for
work during the day, she is not able to locate the box on her own. I've
been adding pine litter to the box, hoping that she can learn to smell her
way there. No luck so far though. Still a fresh pile to greet me after
work each day...oh well, it just a carpet. Didn't like the color much
anyway !!
