Macarena, thank you. Yes, I bond with each and every one of them, even the
wild ones I only have a day or two for fixing and returning to where they
came from. All those that stay with me, even if they are for adoption if the
right person comes along, are like my own, and many have ended up staying
with me lately because there just aren't enough good people around to adopt
them to. For some reason I felt sorry for Scamper from the time one of the
daughters of the original owner first called me about him. He was a very
sweet and trusting cat. If he had not been declawed, he could have had an
outdoor home more easily. That wouldn't have been very safe unless someone
were willing to build an enclosure or put up the Cat Fence in System, and we
always hoped we were going to find someone who could do that, but I think the
daughters of his original owner knew he sprayed, but didn't want to just let
him out because he was already declawed. Maybe they hoped he wouldn't do it
if he were not around their cats! He might have been OK in a one-cat
household, but we also believe in being honest about our cats, so had to
mention to those who were interested in him that he had a tendency to spray
when indoors, especially if around other cats. Then people always lost
interest. Actually, he drew more interest than most of our cats because he
had a rather unusual look and was very affectionate. I really miss him
already, because he was quite vocal, especially at meal time.
