Pam/Terrie- Last Sunday a volunteer brought a spaniel looking dog in who was suffering from heat exhaustion. She looked AWFUL and was doing this weird wheezing/panting thing. Long story short, we found her owners a few hours later who said she got out of the house through a door that wasn't pulled shut and they had been looking for her most of the afternoon. Well, we had dogs out in the dog park ALL DAY who weren't getting overheated so how did this dog overheat in less time than that on the same day? I don't think these people were lying- just my gut feeling. I think some animals are just more sensitive.
