There was a publicized case in Ontario about a few months ago, where
three men tortured a cat and videotaped it. Some of you may remember the
story. The defense was that these men had tortured the cat and skinned it
alive for artistic purposes. That they were themselves "animal rights"
activists and they were trying to prove a point that killing a cat is no
better then killing a cow...Of course, that is a load of crap but the judge
was very lenient with them and one of the men was never caught....The judge
basically said "...I can think of worse ways a cat can die...." uh....was he
awake when the video tape was shown?
