URGENT: YOUR PHONE CALLS NEEDED!

We need your phone calls ASAP to save the remaining 14 cats court
ordered to be removed from a
home in Rahway, NJ . The cats are scheduled to be removed by Linden
(NJ) Animal Control on Aug. 1.

When A
Lifeline for Animals (ALFA) the sole rescue group involved in the
situation became involved in February
2002 there were 139 cats in the home despite the fact that Rahway had
been dealing with the issue for
almost two years prior to that. .The owner of the home was court
ordered to remove all animals from her
home or have them removed. A Lifeline for Animals (ALFA) retained an
attorney and was able to obtain the
July 31, 2002 date. We have removed 125 cats and three dogs. Each week
cats were taken by ALFA ,
vetted and rehomed or fostered. But the success to date of this
remakable rescue may be overshadowed
by the Rahway'a refusal to give us the 5 additional days we need to
complete the rescue of the 14
remaining cats. Rick Proctor, the head of the health department has
refused to allow us those few crucial days, despite the fact that since
our involvement we have shown weekly reports on the progress and have
taken all responsibility for the health and well-being of the animals.

PLEASE CALL THE MAYOR OF RAHWAY, NJ at 732-827-2009 and the HEALTH
DEPT of RAHWAY at
732-827-2085 NOW TO EXPRESS YOUR PROTEST AND TO REQUEST THAT THEY GIVE
US THE
ADDITONAL 5 DAYS.We"ll thank you, but most of all 14 healthy felines
will thank you for this chance.
