Barb,

Barb,

You are a wonder person to have helped Grimalkin. It always
breaks my heart when I see an animal dead on the road.

My mom and I have buried a few that have been hit on the road. I
have never found a cat still alive. I have seen a dog get hit and if it
wasn't for me and another animal lover stopping and taking him to
the vet he would not have made it.

Bless for caring and making him feel loved as he purred his way to
the bridge.

Carla

Belinda, could you please add "Grimalkin" to the list? I dubbed him
on the way to the emergency clinic. I was driving home from my
bf's
and saw this pretty little gray and white kitty lying in the gutter on
a busy street - I went back and lifted him out of the gutter and a
couple of girls who lived in the house right there got me a box and I
took him to the clinic. No collar:(( horrible skull fracture - but
he was wrapped in a holey towel (Bandit-chewed) in the box and I
was
gently petting him and telling him how nice the Bridge is and about
all the new friends he'd make there and what a good kitty he was
and I
could feel his heart beating and his purring but he was otherwise
unresponsive. He was still purring when I got to the clinic, but by
the time they checked him in back, he'd gone to the Bridge. He
had
just died in the space b/n my car and the back of the clinic. He had
beautiful fur and apart from the trauma, seemed in good shape and
was
intact, so we think he ! was a stray. The boys got extra lovin' when
I got in tonight. I don't think I'm going to sleep very well
tonight...... I knew that the injury was probably too serious for
them to be able to do anything about (REALLY horrible skull
fracture),
but they could have euthanized him and helped him that way and
either
way - he didn't die alone and will have a proper disposal (geez
there's gotta be a better word than that!)

So everyone, give your fur-kids an extra pat and kiss from me!
