Same here, James.

The only thing I can think of on the bone marrow is to go through a university. There's the one number you can call... (Cornell, I think?) They would certainly be able to direct you to a place to have that done if there is one....

The mosquitoes... same thing. All I know that will stop the cat from licking off any medicine is an e collar.

Hi James - Well, I'm into homeopathy for things like that, and would probably use either Ledum or Apis 6x a couple of times a day for two days and see if it helped.  But I've never had that situation with a cat or dog, only me! When I get itchy poison ivy, I use either Rhus Tox 6x orally as above, or use Cortisone cream topically and it works great.  However, the obvious problem is the kitty licking the cortisone cream - yuk!  Not good.  Sorry I can't help more...good luck to your friend.

Hey all,

A person contacted me privately asking about options for
treating non-regenerative anemia related to FeLV.  Epogen doesn't
seem to be an option, and this person wanted to know if anyone
here had any ideas.  S/he lives in Cleveland, Ohio, and the idea of
bone marrow came up.  Does anyone know if there is a vet in that
area who knows how to perform such a procedure?
On a non-FeLV-related matter, a friend contacted me about a
cat that had been bitten by mosquitos.  Apparently, the cat licked
the bites to the point of infection.  Does anyone have any ideas on
medications/ointments/deterrents to help heal the wounds and
keep her from licking them?  Thanks so much for any and all
advice.  Take care, and best wishes to all.
