O/T - Hyperthyroidism

Hi All

Well, I had my two kitties in for their yearly check ups. Bandit is great (thank goodness), but my neg. Teddy who is just over 8 years has elevated thyroid hormone. I had her complete blood work up done, kidney levels, liver, urinalysis, you name it, she got tested. The only thing was her thyroid (thank goodness kidneys are great). The vet couldn't feel her thyroid (not enlarged) and the hormome level indicates it's just the onset of this.

So you know the options.. Tapazole, surgery and radioactive iodine. Read thru the archives, but couldn't find anyone of you who'd actually done the radioactive iodine... has anyone????? I'm leaning this way, cause it's early stages and she's only 8 years and healthy in every other respect. She doesn't show any of the symptoms ... yet.
