Hi Marc,
I'm glad to hear that Theo is slowly improving. Are
they positive it could not be a disk? I know it's not
terribly common in cats, but my Cock-a-Poo (Misty; one
of the best dogs ever!) had a disk get out of whack
and she was in agony and unable to eat, or drink or
walk. This was probably 25 years ago (well before any
kind of ER vet) and it was a Wednesday. In those
days, it was common in this part of the country
(Connecticut) for all doctors to have Wednesday as a
day off and many, many businesses closed a half day.
I finally found a vet who was in office, drove (seemed
a zillion miles) with this poor crying baby and
carried her in thinking for sure I would have to
euthanise her. To my great relief, we tried a shot of
cortisone and daily tablets for a week and the next
day she could walk and within a couple of days was
nearly herself again.
Sometimes, unusual things do happen.
I'd be interested to know about experiences with
acupuncture/chiropractic, too, for Luna.
Take care and you'll be in my thoughts and prayers for
continued improvement.
Julie
