Hi All,

I do not mean to offend anyone by posing this, for I
realize that is particular group is strictly for FeLV+
cats. I apologize if I have.

However, if any of you are like me, cats are not the
only pet that you may have in your family.

Yesterday, Friday the 21st, I was blessed with the
opportunity to become a mother of two six-weeks-old
Sugar Gliders. I am so excited about the new arrivals,
that I wanted to share the news.

At first sight I had no idea what a Sugar Glider was,
let alone if I wanted to adopt it! Turns out that a
Sugar Glider is a highbred between a possum and a
flying squirrel. Sugar Gliders (Petaurus Breviceps)
are tiny arboreal possums, from the Phalanger
marsupial family, native to Australia, Tasmania, New
Guinea, New Zealand, and Indonesia.

Their name comes from their affinity for sweet foods,
like the sweet sap that leaks from wounds in trees,
and
the fact that they have a gliding membrane similar to
the American Flying Squirrel.

These tiny creatures are nocturnal and spend daylight
hours cuddling in their nest. Early evening and night
they can be found foraging for food and protecting
their tree.

Sugar Gliders can live up to 12-14 years and the
commitment to gliders equals that of dogs and cats.
They are extremely social and do not survive well as
singles. It is highly recommended that they ALWAYS be
bought in pairs.

Also, Sugar Gliders become seriously attached to their
owner. They need special attention every day to
maintain a healthy life style. It is strongly
suggested
that pet guardians spend a minimum of two hours a day
handling and loving these attention dependent animals.

Although, Sugar Gliders will learn how to socialize
with other human beings, it is their primary owner who
they prefer over all else. They may "play" with
others,
but they only "trust" their owner.

Sorry to get so long-winded. Just wanted to help
explain to those who did not know what a Sugar Glider
was. Does anyone here own one? If you do, I would like
to talk to you. You may privately email me at:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

I would love to hear from you.

Lora
