Carla, Cody was on busperone or buspar for almost 7 months, my Vet recommended treating for atleast 6 months, so I went 7, along with the medication you have to be sure to clean the area thouroghly and then soak it with the claening solution and let it dry on it's own (gets expensive when kitty is marking every other day), if kitty can smell it at all, he/she will do it again in that spot. I was also spraying the area with the feliway spray whenever there was an accident. Some kitties have to be on the medication forever, my Vets kitty has been on it for 3 years and everytime she tries to take her off she starts marking again with in days. It is an anti-anxiety medication. I'm hoping the diffuser will have the same effect. Even on the medication Cody would mark on occasion, but it went from every other day to once every couple of weeks and gradually more and more time in between. He doesn't know how to interact with the other kitties, has no clue about the kitty pecking order and thinks he being attacked when someone tryies to play with him. Sometimes he initiates the play but when some actually tries to hold him down as kitties do, he freaks and goes on the defensive. KC does chase him and he knows Cody is afraid of him, but he has never really tried to hurt him and he isn't stalking him or anything, just chases him behind the couch occasionally, if Cody would stand his ground KC would probably leave him alone. I'm just hoping he'll be able to tolorate the other cats and not mark his door when he gets stressed out. He also give love nips, and I can tell he's not been around other cats becasue he bites too hard, so he never learned by playing with siblings what was acceptable when biting.
