Patti,

I just found out about Ethan and share your sadness.  This is a horrible disease as it takes our babies before they have a chance to live.  Having pets of any kind sets us up for heartbreak as their lives are more fragile than our own.  In the end, it is worth the pain, despite the awful ache it causes at the time.

Take care,

Sharon

I am just sitting here thinking what a remarkable group of people you are.........I got so many letters of condolence for my little Ethan.  Thank you all!  It really does help to share the pain.  Not everyone understood why I took in a Felv+ cat anyway.  It's simple, if I didn't, he would have been euthanized.  Since he was still a kitten, I had hopes of him shedding the virus.  But that was not meant to be.  It was already in his bone marrow by the age of 8 months. Ethan was just 18 months when he crossed the bridge, such a short life. But he knew love and that is something many cats don't get, especially Felv+ cats. I do HATE this disease!!
I'm sure when the heartache fades, I will gladly take another Felv+ cat into my home, despite knowing you're setting yourself up for a heartbreak.
Once again, thank you all for your kind words,  Patti
