Oh Pam, I'm so sorry it was Lai-Tai's time. I'm glad she had you with her at the beginning of her journey to the Bridge to be reuinited with Rissa-Tai. Our thoughts and tears are with you and your family.

Could you please add Lai-Tai to the candlelight service for Monday? Our precious white-toed (she was Siamese with white toes on her back paws) had to leave us this morning. She has had a heart condition that we've known about since September, 2001. She threw her first blood clot on January 30, which affected her left front paw, but seemed to recover use of the paw and was doing well. She threw her second clot on February 8, but again seemed to recover well, and we never did find out what caused her the pain from that -- just that she recovered, but her breathing was never quite the same. Last night, we had company over for dinner. She was sleeping on my 4-year-old's bed, and the girls were playing on it. I asked them to be careful of her, she looked up, I petted her, she pur! red and stretched, and was fine. An hour later, she started howling and the girls said she fell off the bed. She'd lost bladder and bowel control, and didn't do well after that. Her paws didn't seem to be working either. We were unable to reach our vet but gave her Torbutrol and Acepromazine, which calmed her down, and I met the vet at her office around 7 am this morning. I knew it was time, Chuck wanted to think about it for a few minutes, but she got worse, and was turning purple, so we helped her to the bridge. She was our first baby, but she was my cat. I've never had a cat snuggle the way she did, both paws around my neck, nose in my ear, throat against mine, purring her head off. I miss her so much. At least I know she and Rissa-Tai are together again, both are happy and healthy, and we'll see them again.
