Sue, Yes her kidneys were fine according to her urine panel. And besides she wouldn't use the stones for over 22 hours she held it in. The vet said that also says her kidneys are fine (makes sense).
I tried the vervain first and (get this) she got crazier. I keep adding a little more and she was getting wilder and more "alfa" acting. The holistic group said that there are a few cats that when using vervain it does the opposite of calming and makes them more nervous and anixity. (that was her) I have been using St John's for a while and she seemed to get getting better by not doing no "no no's" for about 3 weeks then BAMB! Then she started to do it a couple times a week to 3 times so that was it in the cage she went. Since she has been in the cage (5footer) she now covers her stool and urine when she goes. She didn't when she is with the other cats. The vet said that if you have more than 4 cats you have 100% chance of a cat urinating outside of the box. I think she is wrong on that number but anyway I am still checking out some on line things. So far I have not found much except a few holistic sites that have a "liquid" to give cats to stop this. I still am leaning toward an animal communicator that has been recommaned by a person on holisticat list but I have to talk to the person I foster for. If you find anything in your book let me know.
