Jen,
I can relate with Bamama. Bamama was fiv+ we didn't know till
she
was full blown aides. She was tested back in 97 for fiv/felv due to
one of my cats got out and was felv+. She was negative for both.
Weather the tests were not as good or it just didn't show up till she
was full blown in 2000 who knows.
But in 98 or 99 her one eye seemed dilated. Ends up she lost
vision in that eye. We just thought it was due to a cold that got
worse.
My vet thougth she may have some neurological problems at this
point but she was fine. Seemed the eye that was dilated she had
some vision and the eye that looked fine had no vision. And her
lens became detached in the eye that no vision and so then that
one was dilated.
Bamama didn't start neurological problems till she became
anemic.
You may want someone to look at Charlies's eye maybe it's
something they can do to help him like drops. Bamama was on
drops for a long time and was fine (we wanted to keep what vision
she had left, till she became anemic) She never went fully blind.
I know a lot of people have mentioned this but a lot of felv cats
have dilated eyes and it's normal with other side effects. Both my
felv cats didnt' have dilated eyes.
Good thoughts and vibes to Charlie.
Carla
