       Hi All,
We also decided to build an enclosure for the kitties. Bailey our
FeLV positive had pushed out the screen one day and 4 of the cats got
out. I was out doing yard work and saw a cat in the porch that looked
remarkably like my KC, well the closer I got the more I thought wow that
really looks like KC (thinking in the back of my mind, I know it can't
be my cats couldn't have gotten out), then all of a sudden from the
other side to the porch Shelbee came running up behind KC. It was my
cats, bailey had pushed the screen in the bedroom window out and him,
Shelbee and KC jumped out. My house is 30 feet from the road
(thankfully not a very busy road). I found the three culprits and got
them in. The following weekend Bailey darted out the door when hubby
opened it to get the paper, and from then on Bailey would sit ant the
doors and cry, and paw the rug, and was bascially a pain in the butt
wanting to go out. We decided to buy them an enclosure. I looked in
cat fancy and checked out websites but they didin't really have what I
wanted. I'm paranoid and wanted something that was totally enclosed
that could be right off my back door. I called some fencing companies
and got a very reasonable quote for a custom built enclosure. It's
about 21 feet by 21 feet in length and over 8 feet high, and I put
chicken wire across the top, so it is totally enclosed (we have hawks
flying around and I wanted to be sure they couldn't get to the cats).
The cats absolutely love it and it really is one of the best investments
we have ever made. It is screwed to two sides of the house, and isn't
posted into the ground. It is made out of 4 seperate chain link panels
and 2 custom sized gates (that I have got locks on) that go together
same as a chain link fence would, it's just much bigger. If we ever
move it can go with us. Here are some photos of the kitties enjoying
there "Play Pen". They can barbeque with us, and we've spent more time
outside this summer than we have in the almost 3 years we've lived
here!!

The total cost was under $900.00 (including installation). Some of the
ones I checked out weren't nearly this nice, and weren't that much
cheaper, what's nice about this is I can remove it, add on to it, change
the shape so I won't have to pay again if we ever move!!
