Hi, when I was thinking of moving to FL with my18 cats I called animal
control for info. After speaking with them They told me there was a
limit of 3, but if they got a call they would have to come out an
investigate. If they found my place was clean and there was not an odor
they would not do anything. They told me a lot of calls they get are
from neighbors who have an ax to grind against everyone. Some times
these calls do turn out to be where there is animal abuse or collectors.
I almost forgot the first question they asked me was would the cats be
kept in doors. One of my daughters lives where it gets hot in the
summer and there were windows she could not open because of the stench
from where cats had sprayed on the side of her house and when the sun
hit that spot the stench was unbelievable. So just relax I don't think
you have to worry. San Francisco has a 3 cat limit and a friend mine
has 40 cats. the Health Dept. showed up at her door one day. They
chatted with her and left. That was the end of it. The man told her it
was a "Crank" that lived down the street. That was all he could say. He
could not tell the name of the person.
