--- Begin Message ---Denise,
I'm so sorry to hear about Shadow. (((((HUGS))))) A friend of mine had a kitten who died recently from FIP (his name was Finnegan). When he died, I found myself having this poem pouring out in my head. I renamed the poem for Shadow. Your stories about Shadow reminded me a lot of Finnegan. I'll be keeping you and yours (and Shadow) in my prayers, and light a candle for him tonight. You have my deepest sympathies.
A Poem For Shadow
There's a place in my heart
that has been filled by you.
A place about to empty
far, far too soon.
You came here with Love
Hope, and a bounce,
and showed me a strength
that hasn't wavered an ounce.
How can I say goodbye
when you've only just come?
How can you be so sick
when you're still so young?
It isn't fair,
the tricks life plays,
but I couldn't love you more
if until old age you stayed.
I don't want to let go,
but I know you can't stay.
I just want you to know
that my love won't fade
Time will ease my pain
so please don't fret,
go be free of your pain
and my love don't forget
I'll see you again
and think of you often,
and when my time comes,
I hope my passing you'll soften.

Subject: Shadow / FIP - Gone to the Bridge Date: Fri, 12 Dec 2003 13:15:10 -0800 Thank you everyone. I am going to need a lot of prayer power and positive thinking to get though this one. I'm just hoping that the remaining kitties & I can dig ourselves out of this mess. I must take Shadow in this afternoon to help him cross over. He has gone hill fast in the last couple of days and he is becoming uncomfortable with the effusion of FIP fluid. This just isn't fair. Shadow is only 6 months old. I hate this. Belinda - Could you please add Shadow (date: 12/12/03) to the next Candlelight Service? All of the kind words, thoughts, prayers and the friendship of this list mean a lot to me during this extremely difficult time. Thank you all so much. Denise
