Maybe there is some sort of keyword or symbol we can come up with to
denote a more individual or personal response so others can just bypass it and
not waste their time??

I think some people may not realize that there is a simple way to respond to an individual directly, without posting to the group. I try to only post to the group if its something that might benefit or warrant a response from the group. If I'm answering an individual, i.e., sending condolences, or an answer to a question that does not involve the group, I send it DIRECTLY to the individual, instead of the group. You can reply directly to the sender simply by clicking on the "FROM" screen name in the address section.
