I have 5 leuk positive kitties and I have one that I
took to emergency last night. I noticed his gums were
very white and that he was anemic. The vet found his
PCV is 11. I'm starting him on a steroid as well as
Doxy in case he has Hemobart. He is also on
interferon and I do have PetTinic. My real vet is
calling me today to go over stuff but any suggestions
or am I doing all I can at this point?
I lost another one to anemia before when the PCV hit about 5 or 6. I know the downward progression. I won't put Cosmo through the transfusions but I'm hoping something will kick his bone marrow into making some more red blood cells. I've got my fingers crossed for him. Any ideas or experiences are welcome.
