Sally, Unfortune for you I know there is a law that if a vet feels that a person is being cruel they can call the authorities and have you investigated without giving their name. This is a great law in the case of REAL abuse cases that before vets could not report it without getting proscuted. But what happened to you was a real horror story.
This sounds like the case with Jamie and her sister's cat that the vet pts cos he THOUGHT the cat had rabies cos he wobbled. I know most of the older members remember that. You may be able to get her liscense revoked by you need to send letters and lots of them. In your case the vet seemed to me very rude and I think she went beyond her line of duty to the animal. My vet has never treated me like that nor has any vet that I have used. I did have a vet that I was annoyed and still feel that her poor veterinarian bed matters/paient relationship lead to my cats ultimate fate of becoming anemic but my case was just neglect on her part of giving advise and her stupid staff not asking the right vet! I never had a vet GRAP my cat to pts. Even in the once in the ER a cat that had cancer died and they asked me if I wanted to bring him back. So at that point I think she crossed the line of ethics of a good vet. For her to recommand pts was fine or maybe suggest why you should but to do it with out you permission not ACCEPTABLE in my book. I can only hope for a miracle in your situation at home with AC that somehow you can get away with out getting rid of anyone. Maybe you can find them a temporary situation just so they can inspect and see no cats. My heart goes out to you. You try and help these poor cats that so called people don't want and then you get abused for helping. Just isn't fair really isn't Carla From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date sent: Sat, 28 Feb 2004 01:45:33 EST Subject: Re: My Borderline Diabetic Kitty Wasn't Diabetic...
