I have one of those purebred dogs. A rottweiler. We took her from a neighbor that starved her, abused her, then move away & left her to die. Initially we tried to find a home for her thru the Rottweiler rescue, in 3 different counties. The waiting list to get into a foster home is so long that 4 years later we're still waiting! Of course we fell in love with her long ago and wouldn't give her up for anything. She a wonderful dog, loves everyone, and is a real beauty..in rotti terms. Just goes to show you that purebreds are dumped just like mixed breeds.

Some of those unsold purebred dogs go to the pure-bred rescue groups or no-kill shelters when there is room.  I have transported many.   Many.  Some are turned in to pounds!  Of course, euthed.  I have transported many who have been rescued fm the pound.  Very heartbreaking to see so many wonderful cats and dogs thrown away.
