Dear Friends,

Does anyone have experience with an FeLV+ cat who becomes anorexic for no apparent reason?  My friend Joan took in a pair of young FeLV+ cats about 2 months ago.  One male and one female.  They were spayed and neutered and given their shots and seemed asymptomatic and fine; playful and eating.

Fluffy, the female, has stopped eating.  There seems to be nothing wrong with her: no URI problems, no evident anemia, no mouth ulcers, no obvious health problems of any kind.  She is in a large floor-to-ceiling cage-like enclosure with her FeLV+ mate; the cage is spacious (we go in and sit with them), has a nice bed, scratching posts, perches built into the cage, etc.

BUT, it's still a cage.  I took her out yesterday and over to an open window and she seemed to perk up slightly.  I swear this cat seems depressed!

My Also-Rerun had cancer and began to refuse food, and, that hasn't been yet ruled out for Fluffy, but I just have a gut feelling that there is something psychological going on with this cat.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?

Thanks for any advice!

Love, Julie
