Subject: Flutie got his wings
We lost our beautiful Flutie yesterday. He was just a year old.
He came to live at my office in Nov., to keep Abby company after she had
lost her brother, and life long companion, Harry, to lymphoma. Abby
was incredibly affectionate, but intially was terrifed of anything
new. Flutie, then only six months old, feel in love with her. He
gently played and snuggled her through her fear. he became her soul
brother.
When we lost Abby in Jan. Moon (and his brother Blue) came
to keep Flutie company. They joined together without even a single moment
of hissing. Flutie and Moon became best friends. A little over 2 weeks
ago we noticed that Flutie, who has been a picture of health, seemed
more low key. We brought him to the vets to find that he had a high
temp, but no elevated wbc. After many tests it looked like Flutie's
bone marrow was shot, and he could no longer make rbc. He weaken so
quickly, our robust boy running down the hall became thin and tired,
But through it all, he remained such a sweet, funny boy. Flutie is our
fourth Felv+ cat to pass in six months. It just breaks my heart.
