I like that - will have to try it! I've used nose drops too, and soaked a q-tip with it to wipe on the nostril.

Also - 250 to 500 mg lysine powder in water, aloe or chicken broth twice a day - remedy for kitty cold caused by Herpes virus.

Sheila,

I am new to this list and new to FeLV but, as you can
see from my earlier posts, my success with my kitty's
URI came from children's liquid decongestant given
orally. I made sure to get the kind with OLNY
Phenylephrine (no cough suppresant or pain reliever)
and we gave her about half of the smallest dose listed
on the box, since she's only 6 pounds. She HATES it
(cherry flavor doesn't really work for cats) but I
think it worked.

Previously we had tried nose DROPS which are
recommended by a lot of people online (including vets)
but didn't really work for us in this instance. Also,
we got "Little Noses" saline spray/drops to break up
the mucus (recommended by our vet).

My 12 yr. old Mandy has a stuffy nose and
 occasionally sneezes. I can't get
her to the vet till Monday. Is there anything you
 can recommend that will help
her breathe easier. I have some ampicillian on hand
that was given for uri a
while back. Do you think that would help?
