Why do you think he has FIP?  You can't tell if a cat has FIP from a blood test.  All the blood test shows is that the cat has had a corona virus, of which there are many.  FIP is a mutation of  a particular corona virus.  It is not dormant at any point.  If the virus mutates into FIP, the cat has active FIP. If the cat has a dormant corona virus, the cat does not have FIP.  FIP is diagnosed through symptoms and usually kills within a few months. I never heard of FIP being caused by chemo.

I also never heard of lymphoma being diagnosed by a blood test.  The efficacy of chemo depends on where the lymphoma is.  For instance, mediastinal lymphoma, which is in the chest, responds better to chemo than lymphoma of the kidneys.  Is the vet saying he has cancer of the blood, i.e. leukemia the cancer? I would take him to a veterinary oncologist for a second opinion and possibly an ultrasound or xrays to locate the cancer, if there is cancer.
