$ is not the problem just wondering if best to stick to specialist. and okay there is a large tarantula type spider on my computer desk so i'm going to sign off and run screaming because no one is home to get the sucker for me. oh good he's crawling away. nice brown looking one......can i go back to bed now and pull the covers over my head????????
OMG...EWWW

Are you serious..a tarantula???  I COULD NOT deal with that.,....OMG..I would not be sitting there typing after seeing it.....

On the other hand...Im praying for your little Jelly Roll.....hopefully everything would go well.....and as far as the vet thing....talk to your specialist about it and your vet.....then see how you feel....I would think the specialist would be able to keep a better eye on Jelly's progress...etc...BUT the trip may be to stressful for him...it depends on Jelly and what you think
