All of our cats who eventually went anemic were drawn to concrete/terracotta/bathtub 
tiles...In fact, that's how I first knew that Leo was starting to go anemic...he would 
climb into the fireplace and lick the tiles!  Fortunately, the fireplace was 
super-clean due to its lack of use in Houston, TX...
