To forewarn, a bit of this is ugly, but there is a good turn-out for the rest.

Yesterday afternoon, my stepdad Dale went to the local trap range to gather spent brass (he reloads as a side-line) and while he was out there, a truck drove up the road, stopped and the driver threw something out the window.  The passenger lowered his/her arm out the window and gently lobbed something out that window.  As soon as Dale stood up, the truck tore out of there.  It was too far away to get the plate  but Dale went to check on what was thrown.  It was two little kittens.  The one the driver threw was dead, broken neck - it was quick at least.  The other kitten seemed to be OK physically, just a bit stunned.  So Dale took this tan and white little girl home .  She appears to be about 6 weeks old and too thin.  Somewhere in the midst of weaning.  She was dehydrated and te! ! rrified (who can blame her) but my nephew Riley came over and she was up on his lap and getting scritches and purring and even fell asleep there.  My mom said tonight that she's looking sooooooo much better w/some food and water in her and she's not as scared.  Lucky Girl (her name at the moment) made it up onto the couch and then over onto the end table and then tried to jump to the floor.  SPLAT!!  Mom said it was the most normal kitten thing she's seen Lucky do yet:)  At some point Lucky made it down the basement steps and was found asleep in a pile of laundry and when I was talking to Mom tonight, she was on Mom's chair curled up in Mom's blanket with her back to the room.  I can't wait to go home and meet her!!!!
