Yep, I do have a Siamese
Siamese, Burmese and Abyssinians have a predisposition to develop a syndrome called hyperesthesia where they become sensitive to touch in certain areas, though it's usually the back. In severe cases it can cause seizures, and so is thought to be related to a seizure disorder. The cause isn't known, though several triggers are believed to be possible, including brain damage, flea bites, and poor nutrition.

I was just doing some research on it today because my sister in law's cat was diagnosed today with hyperesthesia. Perhaps the nail sensitivity is related, although it could just be drama.
