Thanks, Tad, for your kind and comforting words. Yes, I have to say I had mixed feelings even about the sub cu, because Caramel was feral, and catching him was always very difficult, which meant it was very stressful for him. I really disliked having to put him through that. (And, of course all the other kitties got stressed out too.) I tried to achieve a balance..but I think it simply left him dehydrated...less dehydrated, but still dehydrated. When he stopped wanting the chicken soup, and the wet food, it became very worrying. You are very, very big-hearted to open up your home to so many FeLV kitties, especially when you've had the ongoing heartache of losing so many of the precious little creatures. They are very lucky to find you. For a while antibiotics and sub Q injections will give a quality of life but once that stops working it becomes an individual decision wheather to try more...which may be good for research but its not the kindest thing for the animal....and not your pocket book.....   I would suggest that if you have any thoughts that you didn't do all you can do that you think of all the FeLV+ young kitties that have that year or maybe much longer to be playful that are being PTS minutes after their 1st positive test...   I have brought home 8 FeLV+ kitties in the last year and I have lost 4 of them 2 of the 1st 4 and the other 2 are still playful and living normal lives...
