I hope Sophie turns up soon. It's so upsetting when a cat can't be found. We went on vacation this year - new catsitter - and she called the first night to say she couldn't find one of our cats, Norman, who's afraid of everything. It was 24 hours before he appeared - we had almost come home. I think he was hiding in a suitcase in the basement. He also hides in kitchen cupboards (can get himself in, but not out) and a few times got himself into the ductwork.
Years ago I was convinced one of our cats had gotten out and was lost but somehow he had gotten himself shut into a filing cabinet (who would look there) and of course didn't make a sound while I was calling. Finally I found him. I hope you can ferret out Sophie's hiding spot soon. Robin
