I too "mix and match". When I first found out my babies were positive they were already nearly a year old. Way too late to start segregating them from the rest of the family. Everyone would have been miserable! I was quite concerned about it at first, but have since found out that it's a lot more unusual for a vaccinated full grown cat to contract FeLV then I was at first led to believe. I would never expose a kitten or unvaccinated cat to my positives though. I had brought a 4 month old feral, (Gypsy), into the house (I had her spayed and she had her first series of shots, but no follow ups), about 6 months before I knew some of mine were positive. I was really concerned for Gypsy, because she played, groomed, ate out of the same dishes, and used the same litter boxes. Well, she's negative! All the other cats in the household tested negative as well, and I started Gypsy's shots all over again. I'm not saying there isn't a danger, I'm just saying that for me, quality of life is the most important thing and everyone having equal access contributes to that quality.

*Welcome to the group,*
* Sorry you had to find us this way but you found the right place for asking questions. There are alot of us on here that do mix and don't mix negative and positive kitties as well. I mix in my household the negatives are tested every year and vaccinated as well. I have never had a negative turn positive. They all sleep, play, eatout of the same bowls, and wash each other.*
*There is alot of information available here for you to read as well. You need to change Vets if he or she is one that euthanizes FELV kitties. *
*Steer clear of Vets like that they choose to do this than learn more about it. *
*Thank god most of us in this group have FELV friendly Vets.*
