Dear Michelle,
What a terrible time of it you and Simon have had. As I read on, I was delighted to hear that he was doing better and I hope that he will soon be home with you. I know the utter, absolute joy one feels when visiting a sick animal in the hospital and having them eat your offering!
You tell Simon that he CAN kick stupid cancer's butt and I am sending him all best wishes and the strength to do it!
I firmly believe that you have to be positive (no matter how incredibly foreign that might seem to the situation) and that it WILL affect Simon. When I was diagnosed with cancer, I went out and bought the funniest books and movies I could, wouldn't have crying people around me, and basically got MAD! Obviously, Simon can't do those things, but I truly believe that you can surround him with with an aura that will help him fight.
At the risk of coming off like a complete nut, you might want to try music from:
I found them by accident last summer and ordered one after I noticed last year that my cats became obviously relaxed when I was playing an opera on the CD player! I honestly believe it works; the music itself is comprised of lovely classical selections and I enjoy having it on to fall asleep to!
I am keeping you and Simon close in my thoughts and prayers. Take care of yourself.
Love, Julie
