Another suggestion for those of you who need and use LRS...my mom rehabs
injured wild birds and she is able to get partially used (sometimes not yet
opened) bags of it from a local outpatient surgical facility for FREE. With
human
patients a fresh bag is allocated and must be used for each patient and no
matter how little is used the bags are just tossed. They cut off the drip line
and
clamp it shut so you do need to be able to provide your own drip line, but
those (and needles) can be purchased from a vet supply catalog like KV Vet
Supply (or others) very inexpensively and KV doesn't charge for shipping on
lightweight items. Vets normally charge $15-20 for a bag of LRS with a drip
line,
and while you can buy bags of LRS inexpensively (@$3-4) from a vet supply
catalog, they are a heavier item and so it usually costs to have them shipped
unless
the company has a policy of not charging for shipping if you purchase over a
certain dollar amount.

Just a thought.
