I actually regularly give DMG to my positives. Simon, who has
lymphoma, is not getting it right now because he won't eat the baby food I give
supplements in, and it stresses him out enough that I have to give him 9 pills a
day and sometimes syringe feed him. Fern is on a bunch of immune
supplements, and we may need to stop them again. I think they were keeping
her cancer at bay, but when she developed an auto-immune disease (hyper-reaction
of immune system) that gave her polyarthritis and eye and liver problems, we
stopped all the immune boosting herbs and put her on high steroid doses and a
drug to lower the immune system. That controlled the auto-immune disease
(thank god-- the effects were much worse than the cancer at this point), but her
cancer grew out of control. We put her back on all the herbs last week, hoping
they boost a different part of the immune system than the prednisone and the
Immuran lower, but today she is showing signs of the auto-immune disease again
(swollen eye membranes-- it was the first sign when she started developing it
too). So now we are going to try taking her off some but not all of the herbs
and hope that this calms her auto-immune disease without letting her cancer get
out of control. Very upsetting. But given all of this I do not think I
should try her on DMG right now.
Thanks, though. I am open to considering anything at this
point!
