Thanks Jill! It's still a good tip that I'll remember.
Glad to hear Gary enjoyed her weekend----give her a cuddle from me too!

Subject: open Rx and vaccines

Kerry, I guess we are lucky to have a vet who wants to
make things as easy as possible. "Open prescription"
might not be the correct term - it's more accurately a
refill. I think the antibiotic is Clavamox (it's been
a few months since she's needed it) and there's a
pharmacy just up the street who does the compounding
so our vet gave us refills and said anytime we need
more we can just call the pharmacy and then bring Gary
in for an appointment later if we need to. She only
sees about one FeLV+ case per year but has been very
helpful, supportive, and seems pretty educated about
types of treatment.

Thanks to others for your vaccine advice. I think
we'll talk to the new allopathic/homeopathic vet about
it when we decide to go to her. Since the one thing
that almost killed Gary was a URI, anything I can do -
vaccines, homeopathy, supplements - to protect her
from another one will be worth it.

Update: she was just fine this weekend, I think I
heard 2 sneezes total and still no snot, no change in
appetite, no breathing problems. We had friends over
and she spent time cuddling with all of them - she
loves attention and company doesn't seem to stress her
out at all. Still haven't started CoQ10 but hope to
do that this week.

Jill
